CS2 Spring Forward Update: New Cases, Skins & Map Changes – April 2025

What is the Spring Forward Update?

Valve has released a major spring update for CS2 titled Spring Forward, marking one of the biggest patches of the year. It brings a new case, three full skin collections, map improvements, and an overall visual refresh for the game.

This is the first post-winter patch and clearly sets the tone for upcoming events, especially the BLAST.tv Major: Austin 2025.

What’s new in the game?

Fever Case

The new Fever Case includes:

• 17 community-made weapon skins
• Knives from the Shattered Web collection, now in Chroma finishes

As of release, the case is priced around $6.50 USD on Steam (may vary).

Collections: Ascent, Boreal, Radiant

These three collections include over 70 new skins. They’re not available directly via the store and can only be obtained through case drops or trading.

• Radiant Collection: vibrant, neon, glossy finishes
• Boreal Collection: natural tones, camo aesthetics
• Ascent Collection: mix of classic and fantasy-themed styles

Map Changes

Inferno

• Banana area has been widened
• Removed pixel-angle wallbang at Coffins
• Improved lighting and visibility in dark spots

Train

• Visual overhaul – textures and lighting updated
• New Train 2025 Collection launched
• Still not included in the current map pool

Compared to the Previous Update

The last big patch in December 2024 introduced the Snowfall Case, but made no map adjustments.

Spring Forward stands out with:

• More content – cases and collections
• Gameplay and visual changes combined
• Prepping for the BLAST.tv Major
